Etude sur les caractéristiques transitoires des caloducs à ammoniac à rainures en aluminium : essais destinés à la qualification.

Investigation of transient characteristics of ammonia aluminium grooved heat pipes in qualification tests.

Résumé

Axially grooved heat pipes are components of space thermal control systems. In order to ensure reliable operation, many thermal vacuum tests need to be carried out with the heat pipe separately and using a thermal control system with a satellite. Investigations under non-stationary heat transfer conditions are very important for heat pipe exploitation in real space conditions. In the paper, transient processes took place in axially grooved heat pipes in conducting ground thermal tests. The typical modelling object is an ammonia aluminium grooved heat pipe with shell with a diameter of 12 mm and 30 grooves, developed by Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for the German Aerospace Centrum BIRD Small Satellite Programme.
