Study on an experimental cryosurgery apparatus.

Résumé

The development of a cryosurgery apparatus is important for wider applications of cryosurgery. This paper proposes an apparatus that utilizes auto-cascade refrigeration system. Experimental studies were carried out. Refrigerant mixtures of R-50/R-23/R-600a were used and optimized for the composition so as to achieve lower temperature and higher capacity. By experiment, the temperature at the cryotip could reach as low as -110°C, and 15 W capacity could be obtained at -80°C.
