Study of an advanced absorption heat pump using untapped energy resources.

Résumé
In the study, a novel absorption heat pump system is proposed. This system is characterized by the use of untapped energy resources and operating in a triple-effect cycle for cooling and double-effect cycle for heating. The performance of the proposed system at full load operation and part load operation for both cooling and heating is discussed. By using sewage water and waste heat recovered from a gas engine, the COP improves by 26% during cooling and 13% during heating at full load operation. An excessive increase in the highest pressure and temperature and strong solution concentration can be avoided. In comparison, at part load operation, the COP increases by approximately 29% during cooling and 19% during heating. The annual energy consumption may decrease by 62% for detached store use and 55% for office use as compared to the conventional system.
