Etudes sur la cogénération d'électricité et de froid utilisant de nouveaux couples actifs.

Studies on cogeneration of cold and power using new working fluid pairs.

Résumé

In order to improve the overall energy conversion efficiency of the vapour absorption refrigeration system, the high pressure refrigerant vapour from the generator may be expanded in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) by introducing a turbine between the generator and condenser to produce mechanical energy. In this paper, a comparative study of the ORC-VARS hybrid system is made using new refrigerants, namely, HCFC-124, HFC-134a and HFC-32 with di-methyl acetamide (DMAC) as absorbent. HCFC-124/DMAC pair is suitable for low generator pressure applications while HFC-32/DMAC is preferable for high generator pressure applications. Systems using HFC-134a or HCFC-124 as refrigerants are suggested for low temperature refrigeration applications. HFC-32/DMAC pair is suitable for cooling at higher evaporator temperatures. HFC-32 gives the highest cold-to-power ratio whereas HCFC-124 yields the lowest.
