Etudes sur le circuit de gaz d'un réfrigérateur à absorption à diffusion.

Studies on the gas circuit of a diffusion absorption refrigerator.

Auteurs : MAIYA M. P.

Résumé

The paper deals with theoretical investigations on the gas circuit of the diffusion absorption refrigerator. Evaporative cooling analogy is used in simulating the gas circuit consisting of evaporator, gas heat exchanger (GHE) and absorber. Hydrogen and helium, which are the refrigerant vapour carriers from evaporator to absorber via GHE, are compared as inert gases. Influences of total pressure and flow rate of inert gas on the refrigerator performance are studied. Helium is found to be a better substitute for hydrogen only with the corresponding increase in the propulsion height. Excessive inert gas charge is found undesirable as it adversely affects the refrigerator performance. The flow rate of inert gas in the gas circuit and the effectiveness of GHE are shown to be very important in significantly reducing the internal heat load.
