Résumé

The vapor injection cycle is known as an efficient cycle. Pulsating the intermediate pressure of a two-stage compressor affects the injection mass flow rate and COP. In a previous study, the authors experimentally showed that COP varied with injection pipe length and was maximum when the pressure standing wave was resonant. In this study, a one-dimensional simulation model was developed to clarify the mechanism of COP improvement, which was verified with the experimental results. The simulation results show that resonance does not increase injection mass flow rate. Furthermore, it was found that there is backflow in the injection pipe and the backflow ratio is minimum at resonance. It can be assumed that the backflow makes the liquid level in the flash tank unstable and make it difficult to supply vapor refrigerant to the injection pipe, indicating that low backflow ratio is more advantageous for COP improvement.
