Résumé

For the increasingly tough upper altitude atmosphere encountered by the aero-craft, the condensation flooding and de-icing failure of icephobic surfaces in severe environment (high humidity and supercooling degree), leading to immeasurable hazard. Chronological anti-icing performance variations among various materials, were evaluated with the alteration of environmental parameter, in an enclosed environment simulating upper cloud flight. Multi-scale analysis provides an internal mechanism of condensation-induced failure: promoting microscopic droplets dislodgement and coalescence, increase frost growth would cause contact line slippery, presenting contact Angle reduction and hydrophobicity failure. Five materials have been explored, bare condition or superhydrophobic coated. Various hydrophobicity, roughness and thermal property, determine the adaptability of anti-icing surface in severe environment. Researches show that surface with stable microstructures can sustain icephobic performance uttermost.
