Evolution des entreprises électriques et pompes à chaleur.

Electric utility perspective on heat pumps.

Résumé

In some countries, the government has removed the geographic monopoly held by the electric utility and will allow the end-user to buy his electricity from whichever supplier he chooses. The existing "wires" or distribution system will be a delivery service only and will carry (for a regulated fee), the electricity of whichever supplier the end-user chooses. Such an "open-access" system is in place already in the UK and Sweden. It is expected to be implemented soon in the US and Canada. In Japan, some competition is being introduced. Competition will certainly change the face of the electric utility business. Effects of these new conditions on heat pump market are studied here.
