Résumé

This paper deals with the fabrication of new integrated component in a passive solar wall. This integrated component is characterized by a high thermal energy storage capacity and an enhanced thermal conductivity and it was manufactured by conditioning phase change material (PCM) inside 24 copper tubes, which were regularly inserted and aligned in a gypsum matrix.
An investigation by means a guarded hot plates unit was devoted in order to measure the heat capacities, sensible and latent heats of the composite with and without PCM. Results indicated that the latent heat and the heat storage capacities of phase change composites were greatly improved when integrating PCM in the composite material.
