Résumé

The application of compression heat pumps with ground heat source for heating and cooling purposes is continuously growing. The ground loop vertical heat exchanger is one of the most beneficial approaches. The theoretical basis of heat transfer in this kind of heat exchangers as well as flow resistance of heat transfer fluid is discussed in the paper. A close attention has been paid to the thermal resistance of the vertical ground heat exchanger for the operation of the heat pump.
