Résumé

The object of this document is, through the example of the district cooling plant in Paris La Défense, to show which are the necessary criteria to reproduce a centralized cooling system in a European city. These criteria are: specific urban-density demand and planned city development, particularly in the tertiary sector; public authorities involvement; environmental awareness; benefits for all the players involved, such as public administrations, owners and end users.
