Hydratation-déshydratation de sels non organiques pour la conversion de chaleur à basse température : un choix de réactions prometteuses.

Hydration-dehydration of inorganic salts for conversion of low temperature heat: selection of promising reactions.

Résumé

Preliminary selection of hydration/dehydration reactions for 3T cooling cycle of a chemical heat machine was performed. Parameters of the Van 't Hoff equation for more than 20 reactions were calculated from experimental data or taken from handbooks. Based on this equation reversible cooling cycles were plotted and boundary temperatures were determined for typical climatic zones. Appropriate processes were recommended for each zone: e.g., reactions of complete dehydration of LiNO(3)-3H2O and Ca(NO3)2-2H2O were chosen as optimal for moderate and warm climates with typical driving temperature 65 and 80°C, respectively. These salts were brought in the silica pores of various sizes to obtain novel composite adsorbents of water with advanced sorption properties. The hydration temperature was found to depend on the pore size of host matrix that can be used for fine adjustment to the temperature of external heat source.
