Résumé

The influence of cryogenic liquid nitrogen cooling (CC) on the performance of the linear impulse electromechanical converter (LEIC) as 1) an electromechanical projectile accelerator (EMA) and 2) a shockpower device (SPD) is considered. A mathematical model of induction type LEIC, which takes into account the interrelated spatially distributed electromagnetic, mechanical, hydrodynamic and thermal processes both in the inductor and in the armature has been used. CC increases the maximum value of the electrodynamical forces by 41.3% and the speed of armature by 31.7% for the EMA. At the same time, CC increases the maximum value of the electrodynamical forces in 2.2 times and the speed of armature in 2.76 times in the SPD. Improving the efficiency of LEIC by CC is a result of redistribution of the energy of the LEIC electric pulse: with the decrease of heat dissipation, more energy is converted to the kinetic energy of the armature.
