Résumé

Unspecific bronchial provocation is a method of detecting bronchial over sensitivity (e.g. asthma). Through inhalation of test substances, obstructions become apparent in breathing difficulty (depending on the nature of the ailment). However, there is greater and greater resistance to using this method, especially for children. Hence, natural irritants like cold air or cold air mixed with water droplets are being studied. Until now, there has been a lack of data on the connection between the specifications (i.e. air flow rate and temperature and droplet diameter) of the cold air and its degree of provocation. The authors presents a device that does just that.
