Résumé

This is the fourth part of the cycle of the papers dealing with noise and vibrations in air-conditioning and ventilation systems as the most important sources in apartment building and public buildings, e.g. hospitals. This part of the paper deals with structure and operation of human ear, effect of noise and vibrations on human heath, as well as exposure to noise. It also deals with problems of struggling against noise and vibrations including of natural and artificial noise and vibrations dumping in open and closed compartments as well as problems of noise level in compartments. Exemplary legislation measures have been presented in the final part of the paper. See also the Bulletin of the IIR, reference 2008-1333 and this Bulletin, reference 0778.
