Installations de refroidissement à absorption avec utilisation optimisée d'énergie solaire.

Solar assisted absorption cooling with optimized utilization of solar energy.

Résumé

State of the art of solar cooling is given by the combination of evacuated tube collectors and single effect absorption chillers with conventional furnaces using gas or oil as backup. If the available solar heat supply is not enough for the chiller operation, heat from the furnace supplies the absorption machine. Thus fossil fuel is used with the low COP of the single-effect absorption chiller for a considerable fraction of time of operation. The objective of the work presented is to develop an absorption cooling machine which can use either solar energy from thermal collectors or natural gas with a higher COP than standard single effect chillers. The idea is to use a double effect absorption chiller which is gas fired but modified allowing to be also driven directly by hot water from thermal collectors at the middle pressure generator. The working fluid for the chiller is water-lithium bromide. The particular design and the performance of the machine will be presented.
