Résumé

The paper addresses the question: "Will thermal energy storage (TES) have a life after utility rebates?". The conclusions reached are that TES will not only survive, but thrive, both within the US and internationally. A variety of actual TES installations is presented and the cost-effectiveness of these systems is evaluated. The case studies demonstrate that there are numerous instances where TES installations are the lowest installed-cost alternative, without any cash rebates from the local utility.
