The economic analysis of applying solar absorption cooling systems in Hormozganb province.

Nowadays energy has drawn a wide array of attentions internationally. On one hand, an increase in the world’s energy demand, and on the other hand, shortage of fossil energy and their related environmental pollutions, have increased the necessity of using clean energy kinds more than before. So far, many studies are done on new and clean energies such as solar power. In this study, the economic analysis of a solar system for a residential building with 1200 square meters and 1050 square meters of ventilated useful space in Haji-Abad city is performed. The functioning time of this system is calculated for 9 months. The estimation of the cooling load of this project is done by Carrier software (Hap 4.3). The mentioned building’s cooling load result, which is calculated with 10% confidence, is equal to 777079 BTU/hr that is simulated for 1050 square meters of useful ventilated space. The used system is a mono-effect absorption chiller with warm water supply and drainpipe compiler. According to the obtained results, the initial cost was low and the running cost was high in the ordinary absorption chiller while the solar absorption chiller showed the opposite. Upon the economic analysis of the project, subsidized, non-subsidized, and international tariffs were computed and the payback period with a nonsubsidized tariff for solar chiller is 2 years and 4 months. In addition, payback period with a subsidized tariff is 11 years.
