Résumé

Problems in the appropriate operation of water-cooled refrigeration condensers are discussed, including fouling, furring, corrosion and biological deposits. The above effects reduce the overall heat transfer coefficient and diminish the performance of heat exchangers. Types of water pollutants, along with the appropriate indicators, are presented. The requirements for water used in the cooling systems of refrigeration condensers are formulated.
