L'émergence du marché du conditionnement d'air en Afrique.

African air-conditioning market begins to shine.

Type d'article : Article

Résumé

The African air conditioner market remained mostly flat during a three-year period from 2012 to 2015 in which it experienced less than 5% growth from 2.42 million units to 2.53 million units, according to the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA). Nev.ertheless, market conditions have greatly changed this year. According to Chinese Customs, air conditioner exports from China to Africa increased in the first half of 2016 by 19% compared with the previous year.
Imports of air conditioners have been restricted in many African countries suffering from foreign currency shortages. Consequently, this has impeded growth in the air conditioner market. The scale of the African air conditioner market was only 2.53 million units in 2015 despite a population of 1.14 billion people. This makes the market roughly one-third of the Southeast Asian market with nearly half the population. Furthermore, the top three countries of Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa occupy about 40% of the total African market.
