Résumé

A significant short-term trade in LNG has emerged in parallel with the traditional "project" business model. New projects are going ahead with less than full two-train sales. Prospective LNG supply outpaces new demand. New markets with new requirements will play an important role. The paper analyses the sources and structure of current short-term LNG trades. It then evaluates potential commercial developments for short-term business and for long-term project structures. The strategic role of shipping is evaluated.
