This report updates the science and looks into how the Arctic ozone layer has evolved since 1998. The most recent information is based on work reported in the World Meteorological Organization's Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion: 2006, the United Nation Environment Programme's 2006 Environmental effects of ozone depletion and its interactions with climate change, the 2005 Arctic Climate Impact Assessment and the special March 2008 issue of Atmosphere-Ocean: "Ozone science in 2007: a Canadian perspective on ozone in the changing atmosphere."
