Résumé

The author gives a survey of the education systems for refrigeration engineers and contractors in Belgium. There are two systems, a Dutch (Flemish) one and a French speaking one. Each of these systems is divided into 4 circuits, a state school one, a Catholic one, a provincial one and a local one. In each circuit there are 4 levels of education. The systems are compared with that in the Netherlands. The number of different schools and other courses and training programmes are given. Finally, some bottlenecks of the whole system are mentioned.
