The author has used a multiple of GDP to predict the future of the worldwide gas business. He presents the estimated regional GDPs from 1998, together with the estimated growth for 1997 through 1999. Total worldwide sales topped USD 30 billion in 1998, lower than estimated last year. He presents a comparison of estimated sales and operating income among major gas players for 1998.
