Résumé

This article gives a brief but thorough overview of the parameters which have an impact on the efficiency of refrigerating units. It is clear that, apart from the new technologies, always useful and to be hoped for, and the efforts made by the main equipment manufacturers in order to improve their products' performance, good equipment design and, even more so, optimal operating conditions are the best way to obtain top performance in energy terms.
