Le principe fondamental des techniques s'appuyant sur un filtre à air : "maintenir le filtre au sec".

The first principle of air filter technology: "keep the filter dry".

Résumé

Air filters can cause a number of problems in air-handling systems, particularly if they become damp. Air filters become damp when supplied with foggy outdoor air. The adverse effects include microbial growth, odour emission, corrosion, penetration of moisture into the air handling system, and in some conditions freezing of the filter. These effects must be taken seriously because of the growing tendency to use 100% outdoor air to supply air-handling systems. Humidity in air filters must be kept below 90% relative humidity. The author achieved this by preheating the outdoor air. The paper deals with this preheating solution.
