Describes the system used at the Dresden City Energy Supply Company, which uses the heat to power absorption refrigeration. The city district heating network is also incorporating adsorption refrigeration and sorption cooling. Provides short descriptions of a number of installations, some of which belong to the customers, and some to the energy supply company. Discusses the factors affecting the sizing of an absorption refrigeration unit and notes the favourable economics of the technology.
