Résumé

The aim of this thesis was to depict how the market for district cooling is today and to try to predict what it might look like in the future. It gives a brief description of the technologies involved in district cooling and a summary of existing systems in Sweden. Extract from the table of contents: methodology; general overview (the different refrigeration technologies involved; advantages of producing heat and refrigeration at the same time; the distribution networks and other systems involved; history; existing systems); the producing companies; the customers (why some property owners do not request district cooling and do some larger companies/facility managers have policies regarding district cooling?); the potential market (expansion of existing networks and estimating the cooling potential); the price of district cooling (the producers' costs; how the price is set).
