The recent activities of research and development on heat pipes in Korea.

Résumé

Recent trends and the state of research on heat pipes in Korea are presented. Development and research on heat pipe have been performed mainly in universities and research institutes since 1980. The characteristic of R&D on heat pipes in the 1980s was to focus on applying the heat pipe to the heat exchanger. But now a number of researchers and companies are involved in manufacturing and developing heat pipes, and the fields of research have been from energy recovery to electrical power, transformers, heat pumps and telecommunications.
