Résumé

The development of refrigeration systems depends on accurately simulating their vapor compression cycle, typically modeled with a pure refrigerant as the working fluid, while the influence of the compressor oil is neglected. In this work, a research refrigeration machine equipped with accurate inline sensors for density, viscosity, and speed of sound was developed to study this oil influence. Before implementation into the refrigeration machine, these inline sensors are calibrated with pure propane at temperatures from 278,15 K to 323,15 K and pressures from 0,5 MPa to 1,7 MPa. The deviation of the experimental data to REFPROP is lower than 0,1 % for density and speed of sound, whereas the dynamic viscosity deviates up to 32 %. A correction equation for viscosity is to be developed with more calibration measurements of other reference fluids (e.g., water and standard viscosity fluid) aiming at reducing the viscosity deviation down to 3 %. In the end, the measured experimental data of the research refrigeration machine will be used to improve models implemented in OilMixProp 1.0, a software package developed in our group to calculate the thermophysical properties of user-defined oils, common fluids, and their mixtures.
