Résumé

This paper presents the measurement of the equilibrium vapour pressure of H2O/KCOOH solution with a concentration in salt from 60 to 80% in the temperature range from 5 to 75 °C typical for desiccant application. The experimental measurements were performed in a VLE apparatus instrumented with a pressure gauge having a maximum uncertainty (k = 2) within ±35 Pa and a platinum resistance thermometer having a maximum uncertainty (k = 2) within ±0.05 K. A set of 40 experimental data points on H2O/KCOOH equilibrium vapour pressure was fully reported and compared with the unique other set of experimental data (Beyer and Steiger, 2010) available in the open literature and also with the estimation of a referenced chemical engineering property database (Aspen Plus®): a reasonable agreement was found in both the cases. A best-fitting regression model based on present set of data was also reported: the mean absolute percentage deviation between experimental and calculated data is 1.1%.
