Résumé

Heat and mass transfer between air and liquid desiccant plays an important role in performance of liquid desiccant cooling system. Taking account of the heat exchange between liquid desiccant and ambient, this paper presents a new method to estimate heat and mass transfer coefficients between air and liquid desiccant in flat falling film dehumidifier and regenerator, named heat compensation method. Comparison between this method and adiabatic method was conducted to study the feasibility of heat compensation method using experimental data. It was found that the new method could get similar results with adiabatic method when heat balance is well satisfied; while heat balance is poor, the new method is able to achieve more acceptable results. A further case study show that heat and mass transfer coefficients between air and liquid desiccant increase as mass flow rate of air rises for dehumidification operation, and the bulk of Lewis factors are between 0.8 and 1.1 in turbulent zone.
