Résumé

The mathematical representation method for the circuitry is fundamental to the simulation and optimization of fin-and-tube heat exchangers, especially for those with complex circuitry. Several representation methods have been proposed in the literatures. However, there exist some problems for those methods. The calculation sequence of the heat exchange tube can not be directly obtained from all the existing methods, being not convenient for users to check and input. And some of the existing methods can not describe the heat exchanger with the arbitrary circuitry, which lead to incomprehensive simulation results. To overcome the problems, a direct mathematical representation, so-called flow path array method, has been proposed in this paper. The new representation method is compared with the existing methods and shows its advantages in description capability for the arbitrary tube circuitry, visual capability of the representation format and space complexity of the methods.
