Résumé

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities play a crucial role in the global energy supply chain by converting natural gas into a liquid form for streamlined storage and transport. A major challenge in LNG production is managing nitrogen, a non-toxic, inert gas that can disrupt operations if not properly controlled. This paper examines the importance of nitrogen mitigation in LNG plants, the techniques applied, and the benefits of effective nitrogen management. High nitrogen in the feed is currently a serious issue in several locations, worldwide, including the US Gulf Coast. A multiplicity of approaches is available to manage this as listed below, including burnt as fuel or consumed in gas turbines.
