Modélisation de la performance des systèmes industriels de refroidissement d'eau.

Modelling the performance of industrial chilled water systems.

Résumé

A quasi-steady-state model was developed of an industrial chilled water system with 4 chillers using plate heat exchangers, screw compressors, and evaporative condensers servicing common supply and return water tanks. The model was calibrated against monitored data over a one week period and then wed to identify and quantify opportunities to improve the cooling capacity and energy efficiency of the system. Reducing the discharge pressure set point from 1300 to 1000 kPa.g was predicted to reduce energy use by 21%; restoring plate heat exchanger performance to the design level was predicted to save 4% of energy costs; and conversion to a stratified tank configuration was predicted to save 29%.
