Modélisation et évaluation des performances des compresseurs et des systèmes de conditionnement d’air/froid utilisant des frigorigènes à faible PRP.

Modelling and performance evaluation of compressors and air conditioning/refrigeration systems using low GWP refrigerants.

Résumé

As social awareness toward global warming increases, conventional refrigerants are regulated in stages. To select safe and environment-friendly next-generation refrigerants for highly efficient air conditioning and refrigeration systems, a performance evaluation method by simulation technologies must be established to overcome the limitations of experiments involving wide variety of refrigerants. This study focuses on the complex refrigerant behaviour inside a compressor, which considerably influences the system performance, and developed simulation models that can reflect the change in the refrigerant state in the compressor considering the differences in refrigerant properties. The details of the system performance were further clarified based on the proposed compressor model. The compressor efficiency was calculated and compared with respect to different refrigerants based on a model that considers the effects of leakage and heat transfer with lubricating oil. Compressor performance tests were conducted to verify the validity of the model. Finally, air conditioning and refrigerating cycle simulations were performed using the compressor efficiency values; accordingly, the effects of different refrigerant properties on the characteristics and performance of the entire cycle were clarified.
