Résumé

In the background of huge market share (60 billion CNY in China in 2020), it is of great significance to improve the actual performance of the variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system. Operation states of indoor units (IUs) have essential impact on energy efficiency of the VRF system with multiple indoor terminals. Thus, depicting the operation characteristics of IUs collectively and concisely to analyse its impact on system performance is a difficult problem to be solved. This paper investigated a novel performance affecting index of capacity utilization rate (CUR) to depict the impact of IUs on system performance, and established a performance model based on the index. Simulation results in cooling condition prove that both energy efficiency and evaporating temperature decrease with the decrease of CUR under a certain ambient temperature and part load rate. The research provides important guidance for system design, performance
simulation and performance evaluation for VRF system.
