Résumé

New results of investigations focused the possibility of an application of ammonia as a refrigerant in medium-sized refrigeration plants are discussed in the article. These investigations aimed to achieve a significant decrease in the lower limit of the capacity of ammonia refrigeration plants. The author showed that this limit may decrease even below 10 kW. As one promising direction the application of a new azeotropic blend R723 is discussed. The main advantages of this blend have been described, and include: good miscibility and PAG oils, very good compatibility with copper and copper alloys as well as a reasonably good COP.
