Résumé
The rotational magnetocaloric effect (RMCE) is a promising approach for magnetic refrigeration. RMCE simplifies device design and improves compactness, as it allows for the use of a constant external field source. The required variation of the internal magnetic field is induced by the relative rotation between the external field vector and the magnetocaloric material, utilizing the magnetocrystalline anisotropy and/or the demagnetizing effect. To study RMCE-based active magnetic regenerators (AMRs), we developed a one-dimensional time-dependent numerical model. This model allows analysis of dynamic operation under various parameters, including fluid flow rate, operating frequency, the amplitude of the internal magnetic flux density change, AMR geometry, and material properties. The model was applied to optimize the RMCE-based AMR, determining optimal operating modes and design parameters. Through extensive parametric analysis, we identified the most effective AMR configurations for temperature spans ranging from 1 K to 30 K. Results provide design insights and support the development of RMCE-based prototypes.
