Résumé

Noise is an important performance characteristic for both the compressor and the refrigerator. Products must comply with not only meeting national standards but also consumers’ gradually increasing requirements for sound quality. Continuously improving compressor noise and sound quality is a key factor for product optimization and thus for competitive differentiation. In this article, compressor noise improvement was researched focusing on housing optimization. The Operational Deflection Shape (ODS) method was applied as an optimization tool. Through this method, very useful results related to vibro-acoustical characteristics can be obtained, aiming at understanding and analyzing the absolute dynamic behavior of machines or structures. It focuses on the real running case in the structure; resulting in richer information comparing to modal analysis. Due to this approach, dynamic behavior for every single position of the compressor at critical frequencies was obtained. After achieving housing optimization, compressor noise improves at critical frequencies and in terms of sound quality.
