Optimisation du nombre de sections parallèles dans un évaporateur.

Optimum number of parallel sections in evaporators.

Auteurs : GRANRYD E., PALM B.

Résumé

The paper focuses on the design of the refrigeration evaporator. As the COP of the system is determined greatly by the pressure at the compressor inlet, it is a matter of technical optimization to choose the number of parallel channels in the evaporator that gives the highest refrigerant pressure at the outlet. The problem of choosing the optimum length of parallel channels has been treated previously by Granryd, who based the analysis on correlations of heat transfer and pressure drop suggested by Pierre. It is clear, however, that the choice of heat transfer and pressure drop correlations is important for the outcome of the analysis. The purpose of this paper was to investigate whether the results of the original analysis will be different if based on correlations other than those of Pierre. The results are demonstrated by a few examples.
