Résumé
To supply some proposal for selecting and preparation of activated carbon (AC) for ammonia refrigeration applications, five kinds of domestic AC were investigated, based on the relationship of their adsorption performance and microstructure. A new positive pressure gravimetric device was established, for determination of equilibrium adsorption performance and adsorption rate of domestic carbons. Also, a dynamic adsorption-desorption test rig was built to measure desorption performance of AC. And pore size distribution and specific surface area of AC was performed by ASAP2020 adsorption device. The results show that: during pressures corresponding to typical evaporating temperature of 4-8.5°C, ammonia loading on AC-1 and AC-2 is 0.25-0.30 kg/kg, similar to those reported for commonly used 208C carbon, which are promising for adsorption cycles. The experimental data were fitted well using modified D-A adsorption equation. Under typical evaporating and adsorption temperature of 5 and 30°C, ammonia adsorption rate on AC-1 and AC-2 is very high. It takes only 4-5min when the dimensionless adsorption capacity reaches 0.8. regenerating temperature of 80°C, desorption quantity of ammonia can reach about 94-95%. The favorable adsorption properties of AC, under lower ammonia pressure, might result from abundant microspores. Abundant mesopores (2-3 nm) of AC might supply plenty of diffusion channels for ammonia thus their dynamic performance for ammonia could be improved. Consequently, centralized mesopores (2-3 nm) of AC is more preferable to adsorption cycles.
