Résumé

Utilization of cross-ventilation is an important issue for the reduction of energy use in residential buildings in hot and humid seasons. Cross-ventilation performance of residences will be evaluated generally by opening conditions. In the paper, various opening conditions to exert indoor airflow structure of a cross-ventilated residential building were studied using CFD simulation. Large of openings and distance between openings tended to have an effect to increase the velocity ratio. It was found that wind velocity ratio, which is defined as wind velocity in occupied space that passes through openings, was mainly determined by opening conditions irrespective of building surrounding conditions
