Résumé

This publication opens the cycle of papers dealing with the application of heat pumps for heating systems of apartment buildings. The discussed problems deal with four issues. The first one deals with basic principles of operation of compression heat pump, the second one deals with selected problems of design and choice of low-temperature heat sources. The third issue deals with energy requirements for buildings, and the fourth one deals with economics of application of heat pumps under Polish conditions.
