This paper is an overview concerning all major trends in the design or the use of air conditioning or refrigeration systems. Especially highlighted: thermal storage systems including overseas trends (Italy, Malaysia, China); new energy technologies (cogeneration, also for small-size units, solar energy, wind towers); heat pump development and absorption gas-driven air conditioners.
