This series of papers is the Phase 1 report of the UK contribution to the Annex objectives (see also this Bulletin, reference 2006-0820). It includes 10 papers: centralized, distributed and integral systems; optimization of secondary systems; application of combined heat and power and combined cooling, heat and power schemes in supermarkets; gas engine driven refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment; review of air cycle systems for advanced retail refrigeration and HVAC systems; refrigerants; performance of variable-speed compressors; evaporator coils and frosting/defrosting issues; refrigeration controls; and heat recovery for supermarkets.
