Résumé

As Pentium-IV, a high-performance PC CPU, emerges, CPU's thermal design power is showing a sharp increase. Because a conventional cooling method, such as an aluminum extruded heat sink, has disadvantages such as poor cooling performance, acoustic noise increase and weight rise, a cooling module in the form of remote heat exchanger using a heat pipe has been developed. Thanks to system fan exhausting heat to cool CPU, acoustic noise is reduced with less fan use and makes it possible to reduce the unit manufacturing price. This article proposes cooling using a heat pipe, recommends a Pentium-IV CPU cooling module with a change of fan revolution speed, and looks at the possibility of reducing acoustic noise.
