Résumé

Growing interest in energy efficiency and sustainability is causing many building owners and designers to consider evaporative cooling, several variations of which are available on the commercial market: 1) direct evaporative cooling, the traditional approach, by which air is passed through media that is flooded with water. The latent heat associated with vaporizing the water cools and humidifies the air stream. The water comes in direct contact with the cooled air stream. 2) indirect evaporative cooling, which combines a heat exchanger and an evaporative-cooling process.
