Based on the study of multi-zone VAV air conditioning systems and their control, and ASHRAE standard requirements, the authors evaluate four outdoor air control strategies for mixing air supply systems, and analyse the performance of outdoor multi-zone air distribution and energy consumption for each option. The strategy using reheating control of VAV boxes with optimal control of the AHU supply air temperature is the best for distributing outdoor air to all zones of a building and achieving better energy efficiency.
