Résumé

This is the first in an occasional series reviewing the work of various IIR commissions as presented at the 16th congress of the IIR in Paris in September 1983. In the first article, Stolk presents extensive data concerning commission B2's subject of refrigeration machinery. This is a very broad area discussing compression, absorption, expansion and mixed cycles; design and optimisation; analysis of dynamic behaviour; and small and large refrigeration machines. The second article by Steimle discusses the work of commission E1. This covers space conditioning, room air distribution, energy conservation in buildings, solar energy use in air conditioning and air conditioning in transport.
